TERRICCIOLA Citta del Vino (City of wine) More Fotos	The town of Terricciola is situated on a hill overlooking the the Era river valley. Once a strategic position for the early inhabitants perhaps but now an ideal centre for the production of local wines from the surrounding Valdera region. In the old town the original air of feudalism lives on with the typical atmosphere of an old country town. One can stroll leisurely through the streets absorbing the atmosphere or cycle along
the country lanes passing farms vineyards, olive groves and discover various Etruscan treasures and medieval remnants on the way including Etruscan tombs and remains of medieval castle towers and houses of the once noble. Passing through the town you come to a panoramic terrace on top of the ridge displaying the wonderful panorama of the "Pisane hills". Today Terricciola is famous for its wines ( Wine festival in September),		for the authenticity of local agricultural products and for the magnificent scenery and landscape. Why not come and discover the thousand stories from this corner of Italy! Come and taste the wines from the hills, the local dishes and specialities with all the flavoured sauces, the locally produced olive-oil from the olive trees and the cheese still produced using the old traditional methods (recipes).

	How to find us: From Florence take the motorway (superstrada FI-PI-LI) in the direction of Livorno/Pisa. From Pisa take the motorway (superstrada FI-PI-LI) in the direction of Florence. Leave the motorway at Pontedera and drive in the direction of Volterra untill you see signs for Terricciola. Please follow them ! Passing La Rosa you will find yourselves on the "Via Volterrana". You should continue on the "Via Volterrana" for about 2-3 Km after which you will see a sign for Terricciola where you will need to turn right. Here the road starts to climb and you have to continue for about 2,5 km. Before reaching the village center please take the private road on the right highlighted by a stone sign "In Toscana". Our private road, which has a large gate at the entrance, will take you to our Holiday villa (the only one with swimming pool!).
	N.B. If you find yourselves in difficulty, just ask anyone for the Family Santoni Roberto or Poggiarelli Nr. 9. Everyone locally will know and be glad to help..
